These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Samity app and related services (“the app”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Samity is
Samity is a record-keeping tool for informal group savings and investment associations (samitis). It helps groups track members, shares, contributions, dues, and investment returns. Samity is not a bank, wallet, payment processor, or financial institution. The app does not hold, transfer, or guarantee any money. All actual payments happen offline, directly between members.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use Samity.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your phone number and password secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Funds and members
- A fund is created and managed by its admin and moderators, who are responsible for the fund’s rules, records, and the accuracy of amounts they enter.
- Contributions, deposits, and investment returns entered in the app are records of offline activity between members — Samity does not verify, custody, or process the underlying money.
- Disputes between members about money, shares, or returns are the responsibility of the members and their fund admin. Samity provides the record, not arbitration.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Samity to break any law, to defraud or mislead other members, to upload unlawful content, or to interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
6. Financial disclaimer
Samity does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any investment recorded in the app is decided by the fund’s members at their own risk. We make no guarantee of any return, profit, or preservation of contributions. You use the app and participate in any samiti at your own risk.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. Features may change, be suspended, or be discontinued.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Samity and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of money, contributions, profits, or data arising from your use of the app, member disputes, offline payments, or investment outcomes.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the service. Fund records are retained for audit as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual property
The Samity name, logo, and app are owned by the Duare team. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the app without permission.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
